Perfect!

Perfect!

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.  (Deut 32:4)

Perfection is something greatly desired, at least we call the thing we want as perfect.

But we know nothing is really perfect in this world.

There are three things that are perfect.

Firstly, God is perfect.

He is the standard against which everything else is evaluated.

His works are perfect (Deut 32:4).

So is His love (1 John 4:17-18).

His will is perfect (Rom 12:2).

His salvation is perfect (Heb 2:10).

Secondly, God’s Word is perfect (Ps 18:20; 19:7).

God’s Word is truth (John 17:17).

It has a sanctifying effect on us (John 15:3).

Thirdly, Christ’s work on the cross is perfect (Heb 10:14).

The Chinese character for ten is in the shape of a cross.

The number ten is seen as the number of perfection.

In the Old Testament, sacrifices were offered continuously because these sacrifices could never ever atone for our sins.

But Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross was offered once and for all (Heb 7:27).

It is effective to save us from our sins.

Praise God that He is perfect.

Thank God for Jesus, His perfect sacrifice through whom we can find total forgiveness of our sins.
