Our Greatest Desire

Our Greatest Desire

Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. (Ps 73:25)

Many people find meaning and purpose in life by having a mission.

They make it their life’s goal to fulfill their mission or calling.

They believe this is the reason why they were born.

They are attracted to it.  They pursue it.

Their mission could be to help others or help create a better world.

These are all good goals.

Whether they fulfill their goals or not, they feel satisfied.  At least, their achievement is in progress.  Success is after all a journey, not a destination.

But pursuing a life goal or mission is not the most fulfilling thing in the world.

Jesus Himself is the most fulfilling and satisfying.

He says, I have come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

Life is not a thing.  Because we think life is a thing, we try to look for a thing instead of a Person, Jesus.

Jesus is Life.  Jesus is our Satisfaction.  Jesus is the Abundant Life.

Don’t seek to have an abundant life. You must have Jesus, the Abundant Life.

When we have Him, we have everything.

He is all we desire.  There is nothing so wonderful as having Him and fellowshipping with Him.

Spend time remaining in His presence.
