Half Satisfaction
“But I have this against you, that y0u have abandoned the love you had at first” (Rev 2:4).
“I just don’t have interest in spiritual things anymore,” a Christian said.
He is not alone.
Do you feel like that too?
Do you feel that reading the Bible, prayer, going to church, having fellowship with other believers don’t appeal to you anymore?
Perhaps you have been a Christian for some time already. That fervour in you has died down. You were once so enthusiastic in going to church and reading your Bible. You are no more the joyful Christian you once were. You are not fully satisfied.
You have lost your first love.
Busyness, distractions, new demands have drawn you away from your first love for the Lord.
We are created to worship and enjoy God. We derive our greatest satisfaction when we worship Him by our lives and service.
And it has got to be done wholeheartedly.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matt 22:37).
We don’t get that joy and satisfaction in our walk with God because we don’t love Him with all our heart.
Our half-heartedness only gives us half-satisfaction.
To obtain full satisfaction, we must love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.
Pray with all your heart. Read His Word with all your heart. Sing to Him with all your heart. Fellowship with other belivers with all your heart. Serve with all your heart.
You will experience the fulness of life and joy only God can give.
