Fully Pardoned
Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man. The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness. (Lev 16:21-22)
In the Old Testament, on the Day of Atonement, the high priest will bring two goats. One of them will be killed and sacrificed. Then the high priest will lay his hands on the second goat and confess the sins of Israel. It was a symbolic act in that the goat carried the sins of Israel.
The goat was let go outside the camp to die in the wilderness. To make sure that it died, it was led to a high mountain so that it will never return.
The Jews would not want the goat returning to them with their sins!
This sacrifice was repeated every year.
When Jesus carried our sins on Calvary, He did it once and for all.
He actually bore our sins on Himself. It was real, not symbolic.
When we come to Jesus with our sins, He carried them for us.
Hallelujah! Ours sins are taken away from us completely.
We are cleansed by His blood. We are fully pardoned of our sins.
Thank the Lord! He carried my sins so I don’t have to bear them.
