The Indescribable Gift

The Indescribable Gift

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! (2 Cor 9:15)

Would you give away your most loved child?  Or would you sacrifice your life to save a criminal?

We wouldn’t even think of doing that.

Yet God, because of His great love for us, gave us His Son in order to save us.

Christ came to die for us – ungodly, rebellious, sinful people who deserved judgment for our sin.

Such a wonderful gift!

No human can comprehend the magnitude of God’s gift of His Son.

No words can describe such a gift!

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:6-8)

God offers His salvation to us on the basis of His grace.

As we think about God’s gift this Christmas, let’s respond with wonder at the Gift of His Son.

God’s surpassing gift through His matchless grace.

Too wonderful for words!

Beyond our description and comprehension!
