Grow Through It

Grow Through It

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. (Rom 5:3-4)

From time to time, we encounter a big problem.  It might be an affliction, sickness, loss, disappointment, or some trouble.

We feel the pain going through it.

We don’t want to go through it.

We question God, “Why did You let this happen to me?”

But nothing in our lives happens by chance or without God’s knowledge.

God allows it to happen for a purpose.

When the devil wanted to tempt Job, he had to get God’s permission.

We may not understand why this is happening.  But God doesn’t owe us an explanation.  Even if He explains it, we might not understand it or even accept the reason.

The thing that happened to us happened for our good and for God’s glory (Rom 8:28).

God allows it to happen so that our character can be developed.  And character is necessary for success in life.

If we see it from God’s perspective and embrace it, we will emerge stronger and wiser.

That was what happened to Joseph.  He was betrayed by his brothers and sold to Egypt.  Some thirteen years later, he rose to become the Prime Minister of Egypt.

As he looked back in his life, he understood God’s plan.

We may not understand it now, but one day, we will understand.

For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. (Jas 1:3)

Trust God that He knows what He is doing.  He is the all-wise, all-seeing God.  Everything is under His control.

This trial that you are going through is for your good.

Don’t just go through it.  Grow through it.
