Divine Image

Divine Image

“So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.” Genesis 1:27.In previous centuries noblemen put their seals on all outgoing mail.

A stamped seal proved the authenticity of the letter.

In Genesis, God revealed that He created human beings “in His own image.”
Thus God put His personal stamp on every human being.

We aren’t some happenstance of time, plus fate, plus chance.
We’re not the product of some arbitrary, mechanistic evolutionary process.

On the contrary, each of us is the personal, specific, creation of God-
– and we bear His distinctive sacred image, even though marred by the fall into sin.

Our uniqueness in God’s creation is a difference in kind, not degree, between human beings and the rest of creation.
We should respect all of God’s creation, but we must reverence each human life.

Each human bearing His divine image is of unique value to our Heavenly Father.

God never created a nobody.

Everybody is a somebody to God.
