But His Never Does!
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15–17.
There are so many aspects of time.
Time marches on.
There is wasted time.
There is lost time.
There is forgotten time.
There is doing time.
Time drags, and time flies.
Time can run out.
And time waits for no one!
We can be driven by time.
Or we can be on the Lord’s time schedule.
Jesus had a scheduled appointment with the city of Jerusalem.
He spoke often of it.
And when He arrived in the city at the appointed time, He looked over it and wept, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes…They will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Luke 19:42, 44.
Jesus was saying, “I had an appointment with you, and you didn’t show up. Were you too busy? Or, you just didn’t want to? Maybe you weren’t listening. Maybe you didn’t write it down.”
The people of Jerusalem missed their moment.
They missed the time of their visitation, a word that means “inspection” or “deliverance.”
They missed their moment.
God has an appointment with each one of us and we don’t want to miss it.
We want to seek His timing.
Ephesians tells us that we should redeem the time because the days are evil.
Redeem means “to buy up, to ransom, to rescue from loss.”
I want my time to be at His beck and call, don’t you?
I want to be on His time schedule.
We need to put our time in His hands.
My hands drop things.
My hands lose their grip.
My hands get totally distracted.But His never does!
