God’s Word is Pure
The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times. (Psalm 12:6)
Our world is spiritually declining.
Sin abounds. The love of many grows cold (Matt 24:12).
The days are evil. The godly and faithful are diminishing.
The faithful are getting discouraged because they see no difference in telling the truth and lying (v 2).
But trust in God’s promises for they are true (v 6).
God will judge liars.
He will vindicate the helpless who are brought down by deceitful lies.
Words build up and words can also destroy lives.
The tongue is a very small member of our body.
But it can be set on fire by hell!
We need to tame our tongue and use it to bless God and others (Jas 3:5-10).
Tell the truth and stop lying (Eph 4:15; Col 3:9).
Speak the promises of God for they are true.
