I Will Recount Your Wonderful Deeds

I Will Recount Your Wonderful Deeds

The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.  (Psalm 9:9)

David recounted the victories God had given him in the past, especially over his enemies.

He remembered God’s faithfulness and his faith in God was further strengthened.

He offered praise to the Lord and rejoiced not just in the victories, but in the Lord Himself.

He wanted to declare God’s power, reign, justice, and righteousness.

We may face injustices – falsely accused, misunderstood, unappreciated, unrecognized, overlooked.

God will vindicate us.

He will remember us and give us hope (v 18).

Do we want God’s justice so as to get even with our enemies?  Or to bring relief to ourselves?

David wanted God’s help so that he could proclaim God’s justice and give glory to God.

Get right with God.  Check your motive.

Trust the Lord to act in His righteousness and perfect timing.
