Faith-filled prayer!

You’re facing some issues that just can’t seem to be resolved-
– some problems that are defying solution,
– some mountains that just aren’t moving,
– that just aren’t getting answered,
– maybe there’s an overload that is absolutely overwhelming you.

It could be in your family, or at church, or at work, or in your personal life –
– there just doesn’t seem to be anything powerful enough to meet the need, to handle these demands.

May be the transformer’s down.
It could be that the power’s been out where you live!
– I mean, in your life.

For those of us who belong to Jesus Christ-
– there is something called prayer that brings all the power of God Himself down to where we can use it to change our everyday lives.

Prayer is your spiritual transformer.
And it’s possible that it’s gotten lost in the storm that you’ve been going through.

Mark 5:24 says, “A large crowd followed and pressed around [Jesus]. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse.”

This woman has tried all the earth-solutions she can think of, but the need was just much too great for anyone on earth to meet.

She had thrown money at the problem.
– nothing happened.
She went to all the human experts.
– nothing happened.

The Bible continues to say, “when she heard about Jesus, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched the cloak, because she thought, ‘If I just touch His clothes, I’ll be healed.’ Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.”

Only one thing brought a solution:
Desperately lunging for Jesus-
– believing that His authority and power were greater than her massive need.

That’s going to be the only place you’ll find a solution, too.
By getting back to the one weapon that can prevail in your battle,
-coming in desperate faith to your all-powerful Lord,
-waging war with prayer.

Maybe you’ve been scurrying around,
-trying everything to find a solution
-except fervent, frequent, faith-filled praying!

You don’t need a planning meeting.
You need a prayer meeting.

You don’t need a program.
You need to pray.

You need to pray as you’ve never prayed before-
– believing God for something so big, only He could do it!

You’ve been so overwhelmed with your situation, maybe, that you’ve neglected the only power source that can possibly change things-
– releasing the power of Almighty God through intense and intensive prayer.

The storm isn’t the reason you don’t have the power you need.
It’s the transformer of prayer that brings God’s power to where you live.

Get your “transformer” back on line.
And you’ll have all the power you need!

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12.

How does our Enemy operate?
He has four primary objectives in interrupting God’s work in our lives.

Satan wants us to
doubt God’s Word.

If he can get you doubting just a little bit, then he’s secured a foothold in your life.

In Genesis 3:1, this is how he confronted Eve in the Garden.

The serpent planted a seed of doubt in her mind.

And the results were catastrophic for all mankind!

Satan tries to
distract us from spiritual matters.

He wants us focused on earthly, temporary outlets.

It sometimes seems as if the Enemy uses every television, cell phone, and computer to change our focus from the Word to things with no eternal value.

Satan works to
disable us from the Lord’s service.

He will do anything to prevent you from making an impact for Christ.

Think about all the popular Christian leaders who have fallen away.

Their sinful deeds were made public.

And the spiritual work they had done was discredited.

The Devil rejoices at this and considers it a great success.

Satan wants to
destroy us physically.

One of his most effective tactics involves attacking our bodies.

Sickness, addictions, stress, and obesity can consume a person’s entire life.

The Devil would much prefer that you focus on your body, not spiritual things.

Satan wants you to be useless in your daily battles.

He’s looking for ways to destroy you.

Don’t let him!
Keep your spiritual eyes open.

Watch for the Enemy’s skillful, devious attacks.

And most importantly, depend on God’s Spirit.

Here Am I

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8).

A young couple was visiting a jewelry store.

They browsed through cases of magnificent diamonds with their gleaming yellow light along with many other splendid precious stones.

Among those beautiful stones, one in particular caught his wife’s eye.

It was completely lusterless and didn’t seem to be in the right place.

“That is one terrible looking stone, do you see that?”, she said.

The curious husband asked a clerk if they could see the stone.

The clerk opened the case, took out the stone and held it in his hand for a few minutes.

When he opened it-

– there was a perfectly flawless stone.

There was not a place on it that didn’t gleam with the splendor of the rainbow.

“How did you do that?”, they asked in surprise.

“This is an opal”, he replied. “It is what we call the sympathetic jewel. It only needs contact with the human hand to bring out its wonderful beauty.”

Merely a touch brings out this stone’s beauty.

We live in a world where beauty is hidden under sorrow, sin and suffering.

How many lives only need the warm touch of human sympathy, love and compassion-

– to make them gleam with a radiant splendor?

Reach out and touch someone this week for His glory!

Share with them the love of God.

Not only will they receive a glimmer of joy-

– but you will gleam with His radiance too!

When the Lord asked, “whom shall I send?”

Isaiah replied:

“Here am I.”

Let’s say “Here am I” today!

And be used by the Lord to bring out the beauty of those around us!

Con game!

Getting swindled-
– is one of the most humiliating and hurting experiences you can go through.

I have gone through that experience!

People set you up by gaining your confidence.
Then mislead you in order to swindle your money and properties.

It’s called a “con game!”
Short form of “confidence game!”

And it’s as old as the Garden of Eden.
Satan conned Adam and Eve.

He was cunning and charming.
They put their confidence in him.

They lost not only their innocence-
– but their God-given dominion over the earth.

Since that time-
– Satan has been the “prince of this world.”
And his confidence games are played daily causing loss to thousands of unwary people.
Living in a world like this-
– you may wonder at times:
“Is there anybody I can trust?”
God wants you to know where your confidence must be placed-
– if your life is to be eternally blessed.

Despite the advice of this world-
– it is not in “self-confidence,”
– nor by trusting some other human being!
God is the only solid Rock in whom you can place all your confidence:
“On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.” Psalm 62:7.
You can have complete confidence in God because of His name and nature:
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God” (Psalm 20:7).
Because of who God is, you should trust Him without wavering:
Your trust and confidence in Christ affects every part of your Christian life.

Neither you yourself (by working up ‘”self-confidence”),
– nor any other human being,
– can give you what you need for the Christian life and for facing the future.
This comes only from God.
Write down some areas where you feel your trust in the Lord is weak.

Meditate on Psalm 62:7 and think about how you can strengthen your confidence in God in those areas.

Memorize Hebrews 4:16 and repeat it out loud every time you feel your walk with Christ getting jittery.

“God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful” (1 Corinthians 1:9).

God wants us to regularly spend time with Him-
– talking about our issues and seeking His guidance.

Even though we are offered this remarkable privilege-
– we are reluctant to make that commitment or to carve out any meaningful time with Him.

We treat this offer with complete nonchalance.
Does that even make sense?
Think about it this way.

Suppose there is a voicemail on your phone when you get home from work today.
It’s a call from the Prime Minister’s House.

It says:
“The Prime Minister would like to spend some one-on-one time with you this week. Just 1 hour to get to know you a little better and to see what the Prime Minister can do for you.”

Your first thought would be, “This must be a joke. Who is messing with me?”

But what if you found out the call was real?
And the Prime Minister really did want to spend time with you?
My guess is you’d be excited and feel pretty special!
But do you know that any Prime Minister or any President of your country-
– is small in importance and power when compared to God?

Think about how quickly you’d jump to go spend time with the Prime Minister.

Then think about the awesome privilege-
-that the God of the universe continually gives us to spend one-on-one time with Him!
